The Short Version
Mental Maths does not collect any personal information. There are no accounts, no logins, and no tracking of users. Your training sessions, streak, mistakes, and preferences are stored only on your device. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, configured for family-friendly content (G-rated, non-personalized).
1. Who We Are
Mental Maths ("the app", "we", "our") is a mobile mental-math training app published by YOUNESS HARNAFI. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app does and does not collect when you use it on iOS or Android.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
- Account credentials of any kind (the app has no sign-in)
- Location data
- Photos, contacts, or device files
- Microphone or camera input
- App usage analytics or crash reports
- Behavioral or interest profiles
The app has no servers, no databases, and no telemetry of its own. The optional "Name" field shown on the results screen is stored only on your device — you can leave it blank or set it to any nickname you like.
3. Data Stored Only on Your Device
The app saves the following information locally so your learning progress persists between sessions. This data never leaves your device:
- Display name — the nickname you entered during onboarding (optional)
- Selected grade level — to tune question difficulty (1 to 12)
- Training sessions — mode, score, accuracy, duration, and timestamp of each completed session
- Mistakes — questions you answered incorrectly, kept for the in-app review feature
- Streak data — dates on which you completed at least one training session
- Preferences — theme (light/dark/system), sound on/off, haptics on/off, default timer length
This data is stored using the device's local storage (Hive on both iOS and Android). You can clear it at any time using "Settings → Reset all progress" inside the app, or by uninstalling the app.
4. Advertising
Mental Maths is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob is the only third-party service used by the app. The app displays:
- A small banner ad at the bottom of the Home tab
- A full-screen interstitial ad shown occasionally between completed training sessions (roughly every second session)
To keep the experience appropriate for students of all ages, AdMob is configured with:
- Maximum ad content rating: G (general audiences only)
- Non-personalized ads: enabled where consent is required by law
AdMob may collect a limited set of device signals (device type, IP address, advertising identifier, ad-request metadata) to deliver, measure, and frequency-cap ads. For details on AdMob's data practices, see Google's policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Apple users can disable ad-tracking system-wide via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Android users can reset or limit their Advertising ID via Settings → Privacy → Ads.
5. Children's Privacy
Mental Maths is designed for use by learners from grade 1 through grade 12, which includes children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from any user and has no sign-in, chat, social features, or in-app purchases, it complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations including the EU GDPR-K and the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code.
Specifically:
- No personal information is collected from anyone, including children
- No registration, sign-in, or parental consent is required to use the app
- All advertising is filtered to G-rated content
- The app contains no in-app purchases, no chat, no user-to-user communication, and no links to social media

6. Permissions the App Requests
The app requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:
- Internet access — required only for AdMob to fetch and display ads. The training itself works fully offline.
- Vibration — for tactile feedback during gameplay (optional, can be disabled in Settings → Haptics)
The app does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, or any other sensitive data.
7. Your Rights
Because we collect no personal information on our servers, there is nothing about you for us to access, correct, or delete remotely. You retain full control over the on-device data described in Section 3:
- Reset all progress: Settings → Reset all progress (wipes sessions, mistakes, streak)
- Clear only mistakes: Mistakes screen → trash icon
- Change your name or grade: Settings → Name / Grade
- Disable sound or haptics: Settings → Feedback
- Delete all app data: uninstall the app from your device
Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws granting rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection may exercise those rights at any time by contacting us. Because we hold no personal data, most requests will be answered confirming that no data exists.
8. Data Retention
We do not retain any user data because we do not collect any. On-device data persists only as long as the app remains installed and is removed when the user uninstalls or chooses "Reset all progress".
9. International Users
Mental Maths is available worldwide. The app does not transfer personal data across borders because it does not collect personal data. Ads served by Google AdMob may be delivered from Google's global infrastructure subject to Google's own privacy policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes affecting how data is handled will be highlighted. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
