BrainHook ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered mnemonic generator that helps students turn study material into memorable acronyms, acrostics, and visual anchors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the BrainHook mobile application.

2. Information We Collect
Account information
- Display name and email address (provided during sign-up or via Google Sign-In)
- Firebase Authentication user ID
Usage data
- Mnemonics you generate and save to your library
- Number of generations used (to manage your free trial)
- Subscription status (free trial, active, or expired)
Content you upload
- Text you paste into the app
- PDF, DOCX, or PPTX files you select for mnemonic generation — these are processed by Google's Gemini AI API and are not stored on our servers
Feedback
- If you submit a bug report or feature request via the in-app feedback form, we store your user ID, feedback type, and message in our database
We do not collect
- Payment card numbers (handled entirely by Google Play / Apple App Store)
- Device location, contacts, or photos
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To generate mnemonics using Google's Gemini AI service
- To save your mnemonics to your personal library
- To enforce the free trial limit and manage your subscription
- To send optional daily study reminders (local notifications only — no data leaves your device)
- To review feedback and improve the app
4. Third-Party Services
BrainHook relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) – stores your account and mnemonic data. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Google Gemini AI – processes text and file content to generate mnemonics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat – manages in-app subscriptions and purchase verification. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Google Play / Apple App Store – handles payment processing for subscriptions
5. Data Retention
Your account data and saved mnemonics are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes your profile and all saved mnemonics from our servers.
Feedback submissions are retained to help us improve the app and are reviewed periodically.
6. Data Security
We use Firebase's built-in security rules to ensure each user can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties beyond the services listed in Section 4.
7. Children's Privacy
BrainHook is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (use the in-app "Delete Account" feature or contact us)
- Opt out of non-essential communications

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BrainHook after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
